TCU PLACE PREMIER LOUNGE
|
Like a well-aged cabernet, Paschall & Dahl go well anywhere…from house concerts to cafes to festival stages and singer-songwriter circles, Suzanne and Tommy are veteran performers and songwriters who create swing-based music they call ‘swing noir’. Their songs fit like a glove into the cool standards of the 1930s and 40s.
Audiences across Saskatchewan remark on their great energy, sense of fun and romance, and pure joy of performing. Their songwriting is inventive, highly rhythmic and melodic. Tommy’s brilliant boogie-woogie piano playing is a perfect foil for Suzanne’s jazzy vocals…they go together like wine and cheese!
They’ve performed in many types of venues and for all kinds of events over the past five years– most notably the past three years at the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, where people may have seen them at the Broadway Theatre opening for headliner acts like the Ed Thigpen Scantet, Preservation Hall Jazz Band from New Orleans, and most recently, Oscar Lopez at the 2007 festival.
In the past year they’ve been busy working on a follow-up album to their first project, life sentences, and they will perform many of their new tunes at TCU Place's Premier Festival.
2006-7 was also a banner year for them as they had two of their original tunes featured in a movie of the week (intimate stranger) starring peter outerbridge and Katie Mallett for the lifetime network in the United States.
They’ve been performing a sold-out dinner concert cruise series on the Saskatoon Princess Riverboat all summer.
Get ready to swing at the 2007 Premier Festival with Paschall & Dahl!
Joining them will be Sheldon Corbett and Garnet Speer (sax/clarinet). |
